During the recent Pandemic, the community of Netheravon, Haxton and Fittleton have shown great spirit and cohesion during these unprecedented times.
In early April, Michelle, and a fantastic team of volunteers created this wonderful piece of art to show appreciation to All Key Workers, during the Covid pandemic.
It was proudly displayed on the high street for all to see.
A big thank you goes out to the team of Volunteers who have produced, supplied and managed the face masks for the local residents of Netheravon, Haxton & Fittleton.
The tree has raised an amazing £5,500.00 and approx 2,360 masks produced and sold. All monies raised is going to support the Stars Appeal in Salisbury Hospital – Thank you to all who donated.
They are now making Poppy facemarks which all money raised will go to the Royal British Legion.
Great Effort!
On 8th May 2020 Netheravon, Haxton & Fittleton marked the 75th Anniversary of VE Day by having a socially distanced celebration by being entertained by our local residents.
Has had a lot of work done to it recently and it has been given a new lease of life as demonstrated by the brilliant photographs taken by local photographer dusty miller
In July, the War Memorial in Netheravon was painstakingly cleaned, repaired and painted it looks absolutely fantastic and highlights the importance of Remembrance for those who gave so much for our freedoms. Thank you Linda and Dan from Cullen Memorial Masons for doing the Village proud.
Lest we Forget.
Throughout July and August the Netheravon in Bloom 2020 competition was held and the effort put in by our wonderful community was enormous and really appreciated.
Thanks to Charles Coslett for taking time to judge this well supported event.
A massive thank you to all who participated to brighten up our dog walks around the Parishes…….
A Commemorative Service and Re-dedication of the War Memorial was held led by the Rev’d Gale Hunt on 15th August which was VJ Day. A wreath was laid by the Chairman of the Council, Andy Linscer, the Exhortation was said by Len Blake from the British Legion and there was a 2 minutes silence to remember the people of Netheravon who lost their lives.
A different Remembrance was held this year, be that people marking the silence on their doorstep or a small covid secure gathering at the War Memorial in Netheravon.
This year the focus on remembrance for the children was Art and Poetry, please click on the gallery image below to see more……..
